MOVE! is a national weight loss management program to help Veterans lose weight, keep it off and improve their health. Each facility has its own MOVE! program for both Veterans and employees. To learn more about MOVE!, visit the national website: http://www.move.va.gov
VISN 20 Prosthetics/MOVE! Cycle Competition
The annual VISN 20 Prosthetics/ MOVE! Cycle Competition promotes health and wellness for Veterans, employees, volunteers and families; a transportation alternative; and reducing the carbon imprint to improve the environment.
VISN 20 facilities voluntarily participate in a local cycle event sometime during June through October. The facility with the most miles ridden wins the VISN 20 cycle trophy, awarded on VHA’s national Prosthetics Day.
2014 Cycling Competition Results
VISN 20 had a total of 138 cyclists ride 3,063 miles from 6 facilities in 2014. Based on facility self-reporting cycling data and application of a “level playing field formula”, the rankings are:
- White City
- Roseburg
- Anchorage
- Portland
- Boise
- Walla Walla
Congratulations to the VA Southern Oregon Rehabilitation Center & Clinics (SORCC) for winning the 2014 VISN 20 Prosthetics/MOVE! Cycle Competition trophy; awarded on Prosthetics Day, November 6th at VA Roseburg’s Prosthetics Day Event. Dr. Johansen, the MC for Prosthetics Day, presented the trophy to Katie Dodd and Randy Tegge, VA SORCC.
