When patients discover their liver disease has reached the point where transplant surgery becomes a possibility, they need accurate information as well as the highest quality of care. The Portland Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC) is committed to providing excellence in medical care to veterans. The Portland VAMC Liver Transplant Program, in cooperation with the Oregon Health and Science University (OHSU), has provided this high level of care.

This website is intended to provide potential liver transplant recipients and family members with some basic information about liver transplantation and about the VAMC/Oregon Health and Science University. Our goal is to dispel myths, calm fears and encourage living with transplantation.
