Pharmacy Residency Programs - Greetings from the Director
of Training
Welcome to the Portland VAMC Pharmacy Practice Residency Program. We hope our website answers any questions you may have about our program and our application process. We currently offer two different residency positions:
Three PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice positions with a focus on Pharmaceutical Care. Several areas of emphasis are available, including:
- Ambulatory Care
- Internal Medicine
- Psychiatry
- Oncology
- Formulary Management
- Long Term Care
- Critical Care
To be considered, an application must include the following materials:
All materials may be sent in one envelope, provided that letters of recommendation and transcripts remain in their original sealed envelopes.
Our interview process runs approximately 6 hours and will include several small group interviews with various preceptors in Portland, a meeting with the Director of Pharmacy, tour of the site, lunch and then a drive to our Vancouver campus where similar interviews will be conducted. Additional time has been set aside to allow a private meeting with the current residents.
