Dan Menasco, B.S. - I received my B.S.
in Biochemistry in 2000 and immediately went to work at a
local Plant Genetics firm in the Department of Biochemical
Genomics as a Bioanalytical chemist. There I investigated
secondary metabolites that resulted from genomic alterations
in multiple plant species ranging from mint to micro-tomatoes.
I left the firm in 03 and was employed over at the Department
of Physiology & Pharmacology at OHSU as a Sr. Research
Assistant where I crossed over to the "other" kingdom and
began working with mammalian systems until April of 05. In
addition to assay development I helped build and operate an
introductory Core facility of Mass Spectrometers and other
chromatographic instruments.
Currently in the Loftis/Hauser Lab I'm again investigating
small organic compounds in order to characterize and quantify
in vitro levels of specific neurotransmitters and xenobiotic
monoamines by means of both chromatography and spectrometry.
