Education - Allied Health and Professional Student Orientation

If you are a Nursing or Allied Health student you must complete the following modules in preparation for your rotation at the Portland VA Medical Center. These modules are mandatory and are required in order to meet Joint Commission Accreditation of Hospitals Standards. Your completion will be tracked and recorded in a training record at the Portland VA Medical Center and audits of these records will be conducted to ensure compliance, but users may optionally print certificates when available.

• Infection Control / Transmission precautions
• Student and Professional Staff Orientation

• VA Cyber Security Awareness Training
• Privacy Policy(HIPAA)

The following configuration settings are required to view the web training properly

1. The display size of the screen must be set to at least 800 x 600.
2. The fonts setting must be set to small fonts.
3. The Internet Option Check for newer versions of stored pages: must be set to Every time you visit the page or Automatically.
4. Client workstations must have Windows Media player 9.0 or above.  
5. Disable any pop-up blocker software (e. g. Google Toolbar), or similar utilities before using this training.
6. Click Yes / OK / Run / Open when encountering any pop-up windows.
