Community Reintegration Services - Lents House
Partnerships
This program is a joint venture between the VA, the
Portland Housing Authority, and Cascadia
Goal
To provide safe, affordable, case managed housing to
homeless (or at risk of becoming so) veterans with psychiatric
and substance abuse disorders.
Method
It provides case management services and low cost rent
to 5 veterans in a community (SRO) setting.
Lents House is
A Single Resident Occupancy (SRO) in south east Portland.
Each unit is equipped with a private bathroom. Rent
is $280 per month (plus $20 for utilities) with a one-time
$280 refundable deposit.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Veteran Status
- Homeless or at risk of becoming homeless
- Diagnosed with substance abuse and psychiatric disorder
- Commitment to abstinence
- Willingness to accept case management
Case Management Services Include:
- Linkage to VAMC or community based service providers/resources
- Crisis intervention
- Individualized case management plans
- Group and individual meetings with residents
