Community Resource Development - Patient Needs List

The following items/projects have been identified to enhance the quality of life for the veterans we serve. Please contact Community Development at (503) 220-8262 ext. 31441 or (360) 737-1441 prior to making a decision, to discuss specific details and to assure that items have not already been donated. Thank you for your generosity.

Special Programs

  • Family fund-lodging assistance provided to family members of hospitalized veterans from out of town
  • Sponsorship of patient recreation activities
  • Direct TV account - $90.00/month – funds used to provide TV for hospitalized patients rooms
  • Comfort (toiletry) items - $350.00 per month
  • Veterans War Memorial Garden - $50.00 a brick
  • Weekly newspaper delivery for patients - $30.00 for one day
  • Social work emergency fund
  • Home based primary care patients
  • Homeless veteran program

Monetary Donations are Needed at this Time For General Post Funds

  • Veteran’s needs (9307) – Donations that are not specific in location of use are available to use throughout the Medical Center.
  • Memorials (9308) – Centralize donations received with a specific intent to be used to create a memorial or sustain an existing memorial such as the Vietnam War Memorial Garden (location-Vancouver Division PVAMC).
  • Equipment (9311) – Centralized donation received with the specific intent to be used to purchase equipment or sustain existing equipment at the PVAMC such as TV sets for patient’s rooms.
  • Social work (9312) – Centralized donations received with the specific intent to be used to purchase patient items (bus tickets, phone cards, clothing).
  • Voluntary service (9313) – Centralized donation receive used to purchase comfort items (slipper socks, toothbrush, toothpaste, combs, shampoo) and for volunteer activities, recognition ceremonies, holiday activities.
  • Special needs (9314) – Centralized funds needed for recurring annual or special needs (wheelchair Olympics, holiday parties, computer programs, hospice programs).
  • Recreation (9317) – Donation to purchase or support recreation activities at PVAMC.
