Oregon Health & Science University – An Overview

Interns on some rotations now have the opportunity to deliver clinical services and receive training at our major academic affiliate, the Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU). It is located next to the VA on Marquam Hill. Portland VAMC's major academic affiliate, the Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU), is located next to the VA on Marquam Hill.

OHSU is connected to the Portland VA by a 660-foot sky bridge which was built in 1993, a physical structure that effectively symbolizes the integration of academia, research and clinical work across both settings.

Mackenzie Hall, the first OHSU structure on the Hill, was built in 1919. This construction began an era of development that now includes 33 major buildings on campus, as well as numerous facilities throughout the tri-county Portland metropolitan area.
