About the Program
The Boise VAMC has a small, well-funded research and development program including studies in:

  • biomedical research
  • health services
  • clinical and cooperative studies

The Boise VAMC has full accreditation research program status from the National Commission for Quality Assurance (NCQA) for its Human Subjects Protection Program.  Also, the Boise VAMC has received full animal assurance accreditation approval by The Office of Laboratory Animal Welfare (OLAW) and from the Council on Accreditation of the Association for Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care (AAALAC).

Our current research studies enhance the medical center's ability to provide state-of-the-art medical techniques and treatments to veterans.
Over 220 active research projects are currently being conducted at VAMC Prototype in areas such as:
