VA MISSION STATEMENT: To fulfill President Lincoln's promise “To care for him who shall have borne the battle, and for his widow, and his orphan” by serving and honoring the men and women who are America’s veterans.

VA's Commitment to Small Business

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) continues to lead the Federal government in contracting with small businesses, especially service-disabled and Veteran-owned small businesses. With the fourth largest procurement budget, VA out-paced every other civilian agency in contract dollars awarded to small businesses.

About the Regional Procurement Offices (RPO)

All VHA acquisition personnel are organized under VA's Procurement and Logistics Office (PL&O). The PL&O created three Regional Procurement Offices based on geographic location: Pittsburg, PA, Minneapolis, MN, and Sacramento, CA. Sacramento based RPO West oversees network contracting offices 17, 19, 20, 21, and 22 under Curtis Jordan, Executive Director and Head of Contracting Activity.

About the Network Contracting Office 20

Network Contracting Office 20 (NCO 20) is staffed by warranted contracting professionals responsible for the development, execution, award, and administration of contracts, purchase orders, and other agreements for the expenditure of funds for VISN 20. Contracting Officers work with VA program officials and outside contractors to facilitate the buying and selling of goods and services for our Network.

About the NCO 20 Small Business Liason

The NCO 20 Small Business Liason (SBL) focuses on increasing small business utilization of service-disabled veteran owned small businesses, veteran-owned small businesses, woman-owned small businesses, HUB Zone, and small disadvantaged businesses for Northwest Network (VISN 20.)

The SBL works closely with VA leadership and the Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU) supporting the goal of helping small and veteran owned businesses contribute most effectively to the important mission of VA.
