The Mood Disorders Center at the Portland VA Medical Center was established in 2001.  We specialize in the treatment of individuals with mood disorders - specifically bipolar disorder, major depression and schizophrenia. We also conduct cutting-edge research on innovative topics including new medications for schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and interferon-induced depression. We are a grant funded component of the Portland VA Medical Center led by Dr. Peter Hauser, MD, Director of the Mood Disorders Center and Clinical Director of the Behavior Health and Clinical Neurosciences Division.
